Two novels! July 23, 2023

I’ve been a little slack in blogging this week. No, not slack, just madly busy. After a crazy couple of weeks, I am finally done! For now. My latest novel, Almost Happiness, is with my editor. I’m hoping for a release date in the middle of August. More details coming soon, but here is the blurb:

Meet Beverley, she’s timid, shy, struggles in social settings and has health problems that prevent her from living life to the full. She is, however, appreciative of the things she does have, a bond with her sister, Dina, who is so different from her, and the love of Troy, her childhood sweetheart who may be caring, but can also be controlling.

When Troy leaves, Beverley feels free. She meets Jay, thoughtful and unlike any love she has ever felt before, and a lifetime of happiness beckons. But when Jay abandons her unexpectedly, she feels like her world has fallen apart.

Troy is never far away, and when he returns to Beverley’s life and asks for her hand in marriage, she accepts, realising that it’s better to be almost happy than not at all. But these slivers of happiness are threatened when Jay returns, bringing with him secrets that could destroy her world. A world that is so carefully held together with hope.

How can Beverley ignore the betrayal that has torn apart every fabric of her life? What must she do to be happy, truly happy?

My other novel, a year in the making is also to be released in the middle of August. I’ve just finished the revisions and sent them to my publisher, phew! Launch date on the 18th August. More details to come soon.

There is a lot going on, as there usually is. My eldest daughter is getting married in two months, and it has pretty much taken over her life and of course those around her. But it’s wonderful, gatherings to discuss events, arguments about seating arrangements, family drama, it’s all happening, but that is the way it is with weddings isn’t it? I think I’m about that age where I can just sit back and enjoy the show. Well, that’s the plan anyway.

Have a great week!
